The Privacy Act's disclosure obligations take effect. If your business makes decisions about people using automated systems, you have to say so. For most mid-market businesses this is the only near-term hard rule, and it applies whether or not you think of yourself as an AI company. A tool your team adopted without telling anyone still counts.

No, and waiting is the more expensive option. Australia is not writing a dedicated AI Act for everyday business use. Everyday AI is governed through existing technology-neutral law, the Privacy Act, Consumer Law and anti-discrimination law, and any broader framework is not expected before 2027. The rules that apply to you already apply.

Most begin with a conversation and a free AI diagnostic, which shows where your business actually sits before anyone proposes work. From there the usual next steps are a short express consult on one or two specific opportunities, or an opportunity roadmap that maps your systems and produces a twelve-month plan. You are not asked to commit to a build before anyone has looked at your business.
